Unless you already have a contactor built into your lighting system you will need one of these to protect your timing equipment from the surges created by HID lighting. These are made in the UK by a well respected and liked manufacturer, the build quality is second to none and is reflected in a product that out rates all the other products in its class. In the following models: - 1 kilowatt 1 gang - 2 kilowatt 2 gang - 3 kilowatt 4 gang Contactor will handle up to 3 x 600w lights, 4 x 400w lights or 1 x 1,000w light depending whether it is a One, Two or Four Light Timer Contactor. We also supply a 'Four Light Heavy Duty Timer Contactor', which will switch up to 4 x 600w lights, 4 x 400w lights or 2 x 1,000w lights. Usually speaking you can plug a 250w light straight into a timer and not use a contactor.
